Celebrities Express Their Love of Jewish Braided Bread Ahead of ‘Kids Challah Bake’
by Shiryn Ghermezian
Celebrities are expressing their love for challah as part of a new campaign that seeks to unite Jewish children around a bake-off of the braided bread to be held next month in New York City.
A YouTube video published on Sunday features hip-hop duo Salt-N-Pepa talking about their favorite challah preparations and dishes: bread pudding and French toast. Another video shows actor Ian Ziering discussing his favorite ways to eat the bread — traditionally served on Shabbat — both when he was a child and now as an adult. And Ali Fedotowsky, former star of The Bachelorette, posed for a photo with challah.
The celebrities are supporting Kids Challah Bake, an event on Jan. 12 that is expected to be the world’s largest of its kind. So far, more than 400 people have already signed up to participate.
